What this specialty is

Pulm-CCM physicians manage COPD, asthma, ILD, lung cancer, sleep disorders, and ICU patients (sepsis, ARDS, ventilator management). Most do combined fellowship for both. Procedural work includes bronchoscopy and EBUS.

Lifestyle & practice

Fellowship hours 60 to 75. Attending split between ICU shifts (intense) and pulm clinic (predictable). Compensation $400k to $500k.
