Trauma / SCC surgeons run trauma services, perform emergency general surgery (perforations, abscesses, NEC), and staff surgical ICUs. Highest acuity, hospital-based, on-call heavy. Some practices include dedicated emergency general surgery only without trauma.

Lifestyle & practice

Heavy call burden, shift-based at trauma centers. Compensation $400k to $550k.
